iPad Air 3 Release Date News: Microsoft Delays Tablet Release to Make Space for iPad Mini 4?
Come Fall 2015, anticipation for new Apple products will probably reach its peak. While less than a month remains before the Cupertino-based tech titan launches its next-gen iPhones and an advanced Apple TV, there is no talk about the third-generation iPad Air.
A latest report in Latin Post states tech enthusiasts who are eagerly waiting for the iPad Air 3 may have to wait a little longer as there are reports that Apple may not release the tablet in September along with its other product lineup.
The second-generation iPad Air was rolled out about 10 months back. As a result, initially it was assumed that Apple would include the iPad Air 3 in its line-up for 2015. However, a Taiwanese media outlet hinted that this may not be the case.
DigiTimes claimed that insiders told them that Apple will give up plant to release the iPad Air 3 this year with a view to give way to the iPad Mini 4.
The report in the Taiwanese tech website reads, "The sources pointed out that Apple has turned conservative about its tablet product line and is not planning to release a next-generation model to replace the existing iPad Air tablet; however, Apple is ready to release its fourth-generation iPad mini and the related supply chain is already preparing the device's components. The fourth-generation model will only have a few small upgrades from the third-generation one."
The website also claimed that Apple has not yet ordered components for a new iPad Air from its supply-chain partners. On the other hand, the tech giant has already commissioned new parts for the next-gen iPad Mini.
In fact, this development has virtually compelled supply-chain manufacturers to look for other projects from various industries since they would have a lot of time and resources to spare, as Apple has reportedly delayed the launch of the iPad Air 3.
According to some reports, Apple has decided to postpone the release of its third-generation iPad Air perhaps owing to the decline in tablet sales.
If latest rumors are to be believed, Apple will launch the iPad Mini 4 alongside the iPad Pro, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and Apple TV during Apple's keynote event on September 9.
