iOS 8.3 Features, News: Apple Releases Mobile OS Update Complete With Racially Diverse Emoji

After being in beta testing for several months, Apple's iOS 8.3 has been released for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. In this update, Siri is available in several new languages, but the most interesting feature of the update is the new emoji suite that includes several racially diverse characters.

There are over 300 new emojis and the human emojis come in six various skin colors which represent different ethnic groups.

Besides the extra emojis, the main update feature is the fact that Siri is now available in Danish, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Thai and Turkish.

Siri also has improved speech synthesis, which allows it to have a more natural sounding voice. There have also been several minor bug fixes included in the update, this Apple says that the new operating system has improved performance.

Another added feature for Siri is that it can now start calls on speakerphone. Users can also change their iTunes authentication details, allowing them to download free apps without entering a password. There are also some updates to the Messages app, reports Tech Times.

The new update has also been made to include wireless CarPlay, which allows users to play music from their iPhones on their CarPlay systems without using a cable. It can also support Google two factor authentications which allows for Google accounts to be added without using app specific passwords.

This operating system was also of note because it is the first iOS to be released as a public beta version before its actual release. Apple says that they will do the same with iOS 9, which will be available this summer.
