iOS 8.3 Beta Release News: Apple Launches Second Public Build for Latest OS Update
With the first public build beta released two weeks ago, Apple decided to send out a second one for the iOS 8.3 Beta this week. This build will be available via over-the-air and on the iOS developer center.
The beta, build 12F5061, contained many bug fixes and improvements. Apple has also released Xcode 6.3 beta 4, which comes with support for Swift 1.2, according to 9to5Mac.
The fourth beta will include a final version of updated emoji where users offer more diversified options including changing skin tones and adding same sex couples emoji. The company also included a new flag emoji along with an Apple Watch, an iPhone 6 and an iMac emoji.
Several new languages for Siri will be available. The languages include Danish, Dutch, English (India), English (New Zealand), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Swedish, Thai and Turkish. Siri will also be able to place a call using the iPhone's speakerphone. Siri will also be able to identify songs using Shazam technology.
Now users can download free apps and music without entering a password. If users want to access their Google accounts, a two-step authentication process is all it will take to unlock the feature, removing some of the need for app specific passwords.
If a vehicle is equipped with CarPlay, the iOS 8.3 can connect to the system wirelessly. The "beta" tag has been removed from the iCloud photo library as well, and it is said that Apple Pay for China could also be introduced, but nothing official has been announced.
Instead of saying "filtered messages," messages that are from people not in a user's address book will be renamed as "Unknown Senders."
As of this writing, the iOS 8.3 beta is available for download.
