iOS 8.2 Battery Problems: Prevent Excessive Battery Drainage in Apple Devices with New Update
A number of people, who own Apple devices and have downloaded the Cupertino-based tech titan's latest iOS 8.2 update last week, have already started complaining about poor battery performance of their device since they updated them.
According to Christian Post, some people are of the view that iPhone batteries drain faster owing to the new fitness tracking features included in the latest software update. In other words, it would be almost impossible for any Apple device to have sufficient battery power for the entire day when it is running the latest app introduced by the Cupertino tech giant.
In fact, a number of Apple users, for instance the Reddit user named lil_breesy, have tried different things to prolong the battery life of their handset. One technique is to switch off the fitness tracker in the iOS 8.2 when not required.
The report quotes the Redditor lil_breesy saying that there are four simple steps to deactivate the fitness tracker. These include going to the Settings of the phone, clicking the Privacy tab, clicking on the Motion & Fitness tab, and then choosing the "Off" option in the Fitness Tracking.
Apart from the fitness tracker, there may possibly be a number of other factors that causes the battery of Apple devices with iOS 8.2 to drain faster. In order to find out the precise app that consumes more battery power, Apple device owners should go to the Settings -> General -> Usage -> Battery Usage of the Apple device. Once they have detected the particular apps that use excessive battery life, they can just restrict using those apps in their devices.
Alternatively, Apple device users can also opt to switch on the Airplane Mode when their iPhone is in an area where the coverage is poor. This may help them save on power, as the battery drains more rapidly when the device is searching for a signal.
Apart from what has been discussed above, people using Apple devices can also maximize their battery life by restricting the background app refresh on their iPhones or iPads. When you activate the background app, they can update the apps in the background the moment they open it. As the background app is not a vital feature, users can turn it off easily with a view to save more battery power.
