iOS 10 Release Date, News: Next OS To Be Complicated?; Features 3D Touch Gestures?
Along with the 3D Touch gestures to the iPad Pro, Apple's iOS 10 has brought several changes to its interface and not all are appreciated by users.
Apple's iOS 10 is now on its beta testing phase and it features several changes to the overall usability of Apple's devices; however, some of these changes have made things more complex to the beta testers.
According to The Washington Post, the iOS 10 has added panels in the menu and navigation screens. As per the publication, these have made single panes simpler, but they led the overall navigation of the device.
A case in point is having two sections for the control center that appears when users swipe up from the lower part of the screen. In iOS 10, the first section contains the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, brightness, and other controls while the second panel contains tools for music and volume. Some users reported that they realized lately that the volume control was in the second panel.
Another example is the sparse design iOS 10 has for Apple devices. While the design aims to standardize the appearance of layout and notifications to all devices, some users believe that it just diverges from a user-focused manner.
According to ZDNet, Apple's iOS 10 messed up the Touch ID feature. As per the publication, users can use the Touch ID feature by just tapping the Home button. However, with iOS 10, users can unlock the device and still be on the lockscreen and they have to retap the Home button to access the phone's apps.
Meanwhile, the iOS 10 is set to integrate 3D Touch gestures to the iPad Pro. According to Cult of Mac, the feature can be used with the Apple Pencil, barring the pressure-sensitive displace hardware located in the most recent iPhone models. As per the publication, it is the sole gesture determined in the second beta of the iOS 10; however, Apple could improve it before its release.
For the time being, Apple's iOS 10 is assumed to be released in September.
