Life Through Colors is a Alabama based Hiphop group that has just released their new album Aftermath. You can check out their website HERE

We would like to thank Life Through Colors for taking the time to speak with BreatheCast.

BreatheCast: How does it feel to finally be releasing your new record Aftermath?

T. Pope: It feels great to release the album. I just love to start and finish a project.
Rockette: It feels great to be releasing Aftermath. This project meant alot to me because we worked so hard to put it together. It almost seemed like we would never get finished.
Jimbo:  It feels really good to finally get the new music out there!

BreatheCast: How would you describe your sound for people that haven't heard of you guys and what artists have influenced your sound?

Jimbo: Our sound is Southern Hip-Hop at its finest.  It is alot of storytelling. Several of the songs you hear on the new Album are about current or past situations we have been in.
T.Pope: Our sound is more Southern Hip-Hop. Our southern accent sets us apart from other artists. I can't say it's influenced by others. It's more natural.
Rockette: Our sound is best described is Southern Hip-Hop because we tell stories in our songs and we add our southern flavor to it.

BreatheCast: What is the most personal song on your new album?

T. Pope: The track POPS is the most personal because we rap about us (T. Pope and Rockette) growing up without that father figure and moms battling situations by her lonesome, plus trying to raise boys to be men.
Rockette: My most personal song is "Pops" because I told exactly how I felt and didn't hold anything back.
Jimbo: My most personal and probably favorite is the song Called "The Vent". I think at that point when we were writing the song we all had alot of stuff going on personally.  Its definitely a work of art!

BreatheCast: What is the music scene in Alabama like?

T. Pope: The music scene in Bama is tough because its not a music state. We must venture out and bring it back before they fully appreciate you around here.
Rockette:  I agree with Pope in regards to the music scene in Alabama. It's tough here because Alabama isn't known for music. However, LTC is gonna change that and make sure both Alabama and Mississippi(my home state) gets the proper recognition we deserve.
Jimbo: Locally it is big, but as far as nationwide we get overlooked!

BreatheCast: If you could collaborate with one Secular Artist and one Christian Artist, who would you choose?

Jimbo:  The secular artist I would choose would be Big K.R.I.T and the Christian artist I would pick is Andy Mineo.
T. Pope: I'd collab with TI because of his superb lyrics and his humble mentality. Christian wise I'd get Mali Music to sing a hook for me.He's great with his vocals.
Rockette: I would collaborate with Fabolous because I just like his style and how he doesn't really get himself involved in all the nonsense the industry offers. My Christian artist collab would be Lecrae. I have much respect for that guy. He represents the kingdom well. He demonstrates exactly how we should handle this Christian journey.

BreatheCast: Do you have a current scripture that has been speaking to you? If not, what are some personal favorite verses of yours?

Jimbo: Isaiah 43; 18-19 - Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.See, I am doing a new thing!   Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
T. Pope: My favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me.
Rockette: My favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5 because it teaches us to lean on God during our hard times.

BreatheCast: If you guys could each play professionally for any sports team for one day, who would you guys pick?

T. Pope: I'd play for the Miami Heat beside DWade, Lebron and Bosh. We'd be the Fantastic Four!
Rockette: I would play for the Houston Rockets all day big baaaaabbbbyyyy!!! We would destroy the Heat and the Nuggets.
Jimbo: I would pick the best team in the land - the Chicago Bears!

BreatheCast: What are your touring plans for this Fall 2013?

Rockette:  For the fall we plan to go more harder than we've ever gone. We have a new album. We've got a glimpse of how trouble can sneak in when you're doing something positive. So its no holding back. We plan to spread the gospel as much as possible.
