Intel Kaby Lake Release Date, News: Launch Set To Be Before End of 2016?

The release date of the Intel Kaby Lake is not known yet but a company exec has revealed that the seventh-gen processor has already been rolled out for manufacturers. That means it will make it way to consumers before the end of the year.

The anticipation of the Intel Kaby Lake release date is high for a much different reason. At this point, people are intrigued what the processor can really do. Although they indeed succeed the Skylake processor, its capabilities are not clear.

According to CNET, next-gen processors by Intel typically get smaller and more powerful in accordance to its signature "tick-tock" cycle. But it doesn't seem to be the case here. By all indications, Kaby Lake is the same size of 14nm with the Skylake, and it's also the same structural design.

Kaby Lake doesn't sport the 10nm circuitry, which was earlier teased but got delayed. That chipset will be called Cannonlake.

However, Intel did say that the Kaby Lake would have the "highest performance CPU" in its arsenal.

Meanwhile, according to Trusted Reviews, the new chipset is capable of playing 4K videos and games without a hitch.

According to leaked specs, the new chipset with have a clock speed of 3.6GHz which can peak at 4.2GHz. However, the architecture remains essentially the same. But it said that this is hardly surprising because of Intel's shift in strategy on manufacturing processors.

Instead of its tick-tock product cycle, the company is tweaking the process and architecture and optimizing any recent chips for better performance.

Meanwhile, the article also hinted the Intel Kaby Lake release date to be in autumn of this year.
