With only three months remaining until 'Insurgent' hits the theaters, fans are looking for details about what they can expect to see when the film releases on March 20, 2015.

However, the producers released a brief teaser in November to quench the thirst of the fans clamoring for updates on the movie. Although the teaser did not sufficiently satisfy the fans, on Dec. 12, they released the first official trailer of the movie.

According to Christian Today, the official Twitter account of 'Insurgent' has come up with an additional bonus for the fans. Early this week, the producers posted a still image of Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) with a text saying "Four days until #InsurgentTrailer." The Twitter image was also accompanied with a caption -- "Check your pulse, Initiates... The WORLD PREMIERE of the #InsurgentTrailer becomes reality FRIDAY!"

And much to the delight of the fans, they eventually released it on Friday.

Recently, We Got This Covered posted the synopsis of 'Insurgent' saying that the movie will take off from where 'Divergent' ended. The synopsis reads, "INSURGENT raises the stakes for Tris as she searches for allies and answers in the ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris (Woodley) and Four (James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite."

It goes on to add, "Racing against time, they must find out what Tris's family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them. Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world."

As far as the cast of 'Insurgent' is concerned, Kate Winslet will return to reprise her role. The other cast members includeh Miles Teller, Naomi Watts, Zoe Kravitz, and Octavia Spencer. The film is directed by Robert Schwentke. According to a report by Variety, Schwentke will also be directing the two-part third installment of the franchise.

While 'Allegiant: Part 1' is slated for March 2016 release, 'Allegiant: Part 2' will be released in March 2017.
