Instagram News: Picattoo Service Allows Users to Make Temporary Tattoos from Photos

You can now wear your pictures on Instagram as temporary tattoos by using a new service called Picattoo.

Piccattoo is pretty simple to use, it converts photos into temporary tattoos that can be worn on the body. All you have to do is access your Instagram account using the Picattoo website and pick 12 of your favorite pictures to place an order.

Apparently, a batch of 12 photos costs about $14.99 and each inkling is said to last for about a week provided it's scrubbed or picked at, according to the Daily Mail.

Picattoo was launched by a photography company Ink361, which was launched in 2011 as an Instagram Web Interface and is based out of The Netherlands. Ink361, which was earlier called "Inkstagram,' changed its name to Ink361 on the request of Instagram, monetizes Instagram usage by offering a web viewer and print-your-photos service, among other products.

This is not the first time that someone has come up with a concept of turning online personal photos into tattoos. Last year, a company called Boof launched a similar service that allowed Instagram users to print marshmallows with images from their Instagram accounts. Also, a company called NailSnaps was crowdfunded in the US last Spring, offering Instagram users the option to transform their pictures into nail art stickers, according to The Independent.

Since the launch of Picattoo, a man has already used the service to propose to his girlfriend, according to The Daily Mail.
