'Injustice 2' Release Date, News: San Diego Comic-Con Leaks More Characters?

Along with exploring characters through gears in Netherrealm's "Injustice 2," it is revealed that the studio will reveal two game characters at the Comic-Con. Also, game creative director Ed Boon teased that fans should read "Flashpoint" and "The Killing Joke" for more details.

Two new characters for "Injustice 2" are set to be unveiled at the title's San Diego Comic-Con 2016 Panel, Comic Book has learned. As per the publication, the panel is scheduled on July 22, Friday, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. In room 6DE of the San Diego Convention Center.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is set to hold the panel and the panelists include Boon, "Injustice: Gods Among Us" comic book author Tom Taylor, and ators George Newbern, Phil LaMarr, and Laura Bailey, among others.

Meanwhile, fans are set to learn more about "Injustice 2" characters by reading two particular comic book issues. In his interview with EPNdotTV, "Injustice 2" creative director Boon revealed that fans could learn more information on future game characters by reading the comic book classic "The Killing Joke" and "Flashpoint."

It is further revealed that the aforementioned comic book series includes characters like Booster Gold, Reverse-Flash, Batgirl, and The Joker, among others. Since The Joker and Batgirl are part of "Injustice: Gods Among Us," it is assumed that they would return to "Injustice 2."

No hints about the upcoming characters have been revealed, but it has already confirmed that the title's roster is set to include Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Gorilla Grodd, The Flash, Atrocitus, and Aquaman. There were no details provided about Green Lantern and Cyborg from the Justice League group.

Previously, Netherrealm's Derek Kirtzic unveiled information about the title's characters and loot system at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016. In his interview with Game Reactor, Kirtzic said that after each fight, players were going to acquire gear and might not always get the gear for their character, as it might be for another character.

According to Kirtzic, the loot system might lead players to explore other characters they had never explored.
