'Injustice 2' Release Date, News Update: New Characters Teased By Game Creator Ed Boon

New characters are reportedly teased by creator Ed Boon that will be added to "Injustice 2," according to the rumors spreading on online news sites.

Among the characters that have surfaced in various reports are Darkseid, Poison Ivy, Firestorm, Captain Cold, Starfire, Spawn, The Watchman and Black Canary.

According to the report, Darkseid is confirmed to be joining the sequel. The character is already playable on mobile so it makes sense for it to jump to other platforms. He was also seen in the original but the role was limited as a stage effect.

Ed Boon has been using his Twitter account to ask fans' inputs for "Injustice 2." For instance, the creator just posted a survey for his followers with a question, "Which do you wanna see most in Injustice 2 ?" The choices are Robin, Nightwing and Red Hood.

He also teased another "Mortal Kombat" crossover by teasing fans about adding Reptile to "Injustice 2." It was earlier reported that Sub-Zero will join the game.

But of course, it's hard to take all the posts of Ed Boon about "Injustice 2" as hard news until we get some screenshots. For instance, the words he used in describing the new additions are non-committal such as "there's a chance," or "it's possible."

Previously, news reports have confirmed the addition of Atrocitus, Batman, Blue Beetle, Deadshot, The Flash, Gorilla Grodd, Harley Quinn and Deadshot in "Injustice 2." They will join familiar names such Superman, Wonder Woman, The Joker, Lex Luthor, Solomon Grundy, Bane, Black Adam, Cyborg, Doomsday, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, Shazam, Martian Manhunter and the "Mortal Kombat" character Scorpion.

Watch out for more news on "Injustice 2," particularly on the release date 2017.
