'Injustice 2' Release Date, News: Game To Add Starfire And Outsiders? Here Is What Ed Boon Says
New details on the new characters of NetherRealm Studios' "Injustice 2" have surfaced.
The inclusion of Scorpion from Mortal Kombat to "Injustice 2" put changes to the game, according to Gamespresso. As per the publicaton, the success of the character's inclusion, plus the release of "Injustice 2" assumes more the appearance of external characters, who will join DC heroes and antagonists.
In his interview with Dual Pixels, game director Ed Boon said that he thought they were going to go further with DLC than any of their previous games. He added that this would be most likely involve the character packs and costumes. In addition, he mentioned about possibilities of switching a gear piece to a different character, which he said as another part of what made finding such pieces so much fun.
Previously, Boon also teased the potential inclusion of Starfire in "Justice 2." On Aug, 15, he wrote on his official Twitter account "Poll results = So you guys really wanna see Starfire in Injustice 2. Duly noted."
It was on Aug. 12 when Boon tweeted a survey, which he described as "just for fun." He wrote "Injustice 2: Who do you wanna see most?" The choices were Constantine, Starfire, and Black Manta. The options got a total of 12,874 votes and as per the survey, 43 percent voted for Starfire, 32 percent for Constantine, and 25 percent for Black Manta. This means players wanted Starfire to be part of "Injustice 2."
As per Movie News Guide, Starfire is the alter ego of Princess Koriand'r of Tamaran. She was betrayed by her sister and was forced to become a slave. She escaped to a world filled with superheroes, which led her to become Starfire. While she can be seen in "Injustice 2," NetherRealm is still yet to confirm the details.
"Injustice 2" is set to be released for the Xbox, PlayStation4, Android, and iOS in 2017.
