'Injustice 2' News: Q3 2017 Release Date; Game To Feature DC Comics Characters?

Along with details on new characters and game play, information on the release date of NetherRealm Studios' "Injustice 2."

"Injustice 2" is assumed to be released in March 2017, Gameblog has learned. As per the publication, NetherRealm Studios' title is expected to hit all the gaming platforms, which means it can be accessed by players using the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. While the March release could be a strong date for the game, it is treated as tentative, since the studio is yet to make an official announcement on the title's launch.

In other news, new characters are set to be included in "Injustice 2" and some of them are the new DC heroes and villains. On June 8, NetherRealm Studios creative director and "Mortal Kombat" co-creator Ed Boom tweeted a poll question, asking fans who they wanted to see the most in the upcoming game title.

The options are revealed as Blue Beetle, who leads with 39 percent of the votes; Swamp Thing, with 35 percent of the votes; and Captain Cold with 26 percent of the votes.

Blue Beetle is portrayed as three different superheroes in the DC Comics. They were Dan Garrett, who got his superpowers from a special vitamin, which was soon changed to gaining abilities from a sacred scarab; Ted Kord, who was created by Charlton. Kord did not have any superpowers, just like Batman and the Green Arrow; and Jaime Reyes, who learned that the Blue Beetle scarab morphed into a battle suit.

According to VG247, "Injustice 2" is similar to its predecessor. In a one and a half gaming experience, it is assumed that players are set to notice a "natural and linear" transition path from "Mortal Kombat 9." As per the publication, it is a good thing because the title's tagline is set to bring out a change.

Overall, "Injustice 2's" tentative release date is in March 2017.
