'Injustice 2' DLC News: Player-Customized Characters Going To Be Available?
The latest news surrounding the "Injustice 2" DLC is the new feature that allows gamers to customize the characters that they will be playing.
This is just among the many approaches that are in line with the "more aggressive" mindset the studio is taking when it comes to the new add-ons.
Ed Boon, NetherRealm creative director said in an interview with IGN that they could not expect the players to invest so much time into the game just building up their characters.
"We have ideas in our head of the things we'd like to consider but certainly haven't like nailed down this is going to be the way to do it," he said. "Ideally to me the whole purpose of this feature is customization, longevity and ongoing molding of your character so to speak."
This could bring additional revenues to the studio as players can unlock special characters or moves for a cost. Presently, Supergirl, Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd can be played in the DLC.
He also shared the news about adding more characters in the "Injustice 2" DLC. He said in the DLC, they added four with the "Mortal Kombat" and six more in the original "Injustice." He said they plan to continue that trajectory with the downloadable content.
In a previous interview, Boon said that they are thinking about employing a tournament mode in "Injustice 2," which is in keeping with what they did for "Mortal Kombat XL." One of the better news that came out of the interview was the fact that NetherRealm was given a lot of leeway to pretty much what it wanted with the DC characters, with the main aim of giving the best possible gameplay.
