‘Inhumans’ Variant Cover Reveals Connection to ‘Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’
In preparation for the 50th anniversary of 'Inhumans' next year, Marvel released its variant cover which reportedly hinted at a connection between 'Inhumans' and Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'.
The new variant cover was released exclusively to ComicBook and can be seen here.
Taking a closer look at the variant poster, a series of circle and line patterns can be seen near the feet of Triton and Gorgon. These patterns look so much like the mystery symbol that actors like Bill Paxton and Clark Gregg have been compulsively drawing and carving since the end of Season 1 of 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'.
The series' storyline later on revealed that the symbols were a 3D map of a hidden city that the agents are now trying to find, before Hydra beats them to it.
The recently released cover just fueled existing theory of attentive fans that the hidden city is Atilla, home of the Inhumans.
Additionally, fans have already speculated that Phil Coulson's resurrection and the appearance of the blue alien corpse in the Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' series further establishes its connection to 'Inhumans', which was strengthened by the revelation that the blue corpse was Kree, the alien race who created the Inhumans.
If Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' is indeed connected to 'Inhumans' fans will have to wait and see when the first Inhumans will be revealed on the show. This may be similar to the show's first season when it ultimately led to the introduction of 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'.
'Inhumans' is going to be a part of Marvel's Phase 3, which is the third part of Marvel's cinematic universe. The story is about a race of 'Inhumans' with superpowers who created by the alien race Kree through genetic experiments.
Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' airs every Tuesday at 9 pm EST on ABC.
