They've gotten this far, now they have to grind it out just a little bit more"”ironically enough, they're going to have to do it at the Grind House. The Indiana Pacers need to win to keep control of their playoff destiny Wednesday when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies, who themselves, are in the midst of crucial playoff positioning.

Here are the scenarios for both teams:

For the Pacers, who have won six straight (five of which with Paul George back in the lineup), a win Wednesday would automatically get them the eighth seed no matter the outcome of the Brooklyn Nets-Orlando Magic game. If both the Pacers and the Nets lose, the Pacers will end up with the superior record and get into the playoffs. If they lose and the Nets win, that's the end of their season, which sounds simple enough.

For the Memphis Grizzlies, the only way they can move up from their current sixth place standing is if they beat the Pacers, and the Houston Rockets lose their last game. The highest they can climb is fifth, while if they stay in sixth, how a bloodbath of scenarios plays out will determine who they will face.

The Pacers should come into the game with more urgency to get the win, although, they will have to do it less than 22 hours after squeaking out a double-overtime win against the Washington Wizards.

The Grizzlies could opt to stay put and wait out who they will face. Since there is no way they can gain home court advantage in the first round whatever happens, they can choose to rest their already banged up players.

Marc Gasol is coming off an ankle sprain, Mike Conley is battling a sprained right foot, Tony Allen is dealing with hamstring issues, and so on. It makes sense for them to rest their key players, and that should be the scenario the Pacers are hoping will happen.
