The Indiana Pacers became the first team in the NBA season to secure a playoff spot on Wednesday night, but a current two-game losing streak has their place atop the Eastern Conference in jeopardy.

With their fourth consecutive playoff appearance clinched, the Pacers attempt to avoid their first three-game losing streak of the season tonight against a Rockets team that has completely dominated the Eastern Conference.

The Pacers (46-15) have lost straight games for only the second time this season after losing by the final score of 109-87 rout to the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night.

After winning 13 out of their last 15 games, Indiana has a 13-8 record since Jan. 22 and has permitted Miami Heat contend for the Eastern Conference's top spot.

"Over the last 20 games or so, we just haven't had our mojo," said forward David West adding. "We've got to change some things up because these last 20 games is going to be a battle."

The Pacers have permitted 97.9 points per game in the 21-game span after only giving up 88.3 through a 33-7 start to the season. They have allowed their last two opponents to hit 50% of their 3-point opportunities.

"Too much space," said West said following Tuesday's 98-96 home defeat to the Golden State Warriors adding. "We've got to be more combative. We've got to take guys' personal space and impose our will."

The Rockets have defeated nine straight teams from the Eastern Conference. They are 19-3 overall when battling the East and 13-0 at home against the East, including a 106-103 win versus the defending World Champion Miami Heat on Tuesday night.

They continued their great streak with a 101-89 win versus Orlando Magic on Wednesday night after trailing by 14 points in the second quarter.
