'Indiana Jones' Reboot Cast News, Rumors: Chris Pratt To Take on Lead Role in Upcoming Movie?

In more recent movie news, Disney has set their eyes on a new venture by possibly rebooting the "Indiana Jones" film series. They recently bought the rights for the film from Paramount Pictures in 2013, and it seems they've taken a great interest in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" hero, Chris Pratt.

"The studio's plans for Indiana Jones are still in the very early stages. However, they've heard that the studio wants to build a new Indiana Jones franchise around Pratt. He'd be playing the same swashbuckling archaeologist character portrayed by Harrison Ford in the original films," writes Slashfilms.

With the success of the Marvel interstellar adventure movie, and his comedic television series, "Parks and Recreation," it's hard to escape his name in Hollywood. The actor is already starring in the huge franchise sequel, "Jurassic World," along with working on the sequel to "Guardians of the Galaxy" in the coming years.

"Pratt has been bouncing around Hollywood since the early 2000s, known mostly for TV shows like Everwood, The O.C., and Parks and Recreation. But he cemented his status as a bona fide movie star last year with the dual successes of The Lego Movie (in which he voiced the lead role) and Guardians of the Galaxy," writes Slashfilms.

The actor should definitely have his hands full with big screen features for good amount of time.

Disney hasn't yet commented on the project yet, and the actor hasn't yet responded with how he feels with the role. However fans have certainly shown their excitement for Pratt to take up the leather jacket and lasso.

A popular photoshopped picture of Pratt's head pasted on the Indiana Jones character has been recently circulating on social media. It's impressively realistic and gives fans a taste of how he'd look in the get up.
