‘Indiana Jones 5’ Movie News, Rumors: 'Jurassic World' Star Chris Pratt to Play Titular Role?
If the latest rumors regarding the reboot of the 'Indiana Jones' franchise circulating on the Internet hold any water, it is likely that this classic blockbuster will soon get a new spot on the silver screen.
Christian Today reports that there are rumors claiming that since Disney Films purchased the rights of the 'Indiana Jones' franchise from Paramount Pictures in 2008, it has been contemplating to make yet another installment of the hit classic movie.
While the plans regarding the next installment are still in an early stage, the producers are allegedly planning on signing Chris Pratt, who starred in 'Parks and Recreation,' to portray the role of Indiana Jones, the archytepal adventure-loving archeologist.
In case these reports turn out to be true, Pratt will be having a very busy schedule ahead in 2015. While he will start promoting his upcoming film 'Jurassic World,' which will hit the theaters on June 12, the 35-year-old actor will be filming 'The Magnificent Seven' alongside Denzel Washington in April. If he agrees to sign for 'Indiana Jones 5,' it will mean that Pratt will have very little time for leisure during the coming months.
In addition, there are rumors that claim Pratt was also being considered for the role of Uncharted's Nathan Drake in the movie adaptation of the popular video game. However, it has been learned that the actor has turned down the role.
The first Indiana Jones movie came in 1981, when George Lucas released 'Raiders of the Lost Ark,' which that revolved around the adventures of fictional character Dr. Henry "Indiana" Jones. The hit classic stars Harrison Ford in the lead role, while it was directed by Steven Spielberg. In 1984, a prequel titled 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' was released and this was followed 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' in 1989. The fourth installment 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' was released in 2008.
In case Pratt is cast as Indiana Jones in the upcoming movie, this will be the first movie of the franchise that will not feature Ford.
However, as of now, all these are mere speculations as Disney has yet to make an official announcement in this regard.
