In line with Roland Emmerich's upcoming action adventure sci-fi film "Independence Day: Resurgence," a new film poster has been released.

On Mar. 8, 20th Century Fox has unveiled a new film poster for the forthcoming alien versus man film "Independence Day: Resurgence." it features the space, the Northern part of the Earth, and the alien spaceship.

Aside from the film's title in the middle of the poster, the top part features a text, saying "We had twenty years to prepare, so did they." This pertains to the length of time humans have readied themselves for the potential return of the extraterrestrial beings.

The poster also showed how big the alien's ships re this time as compared to the human's planet, as pointed out by Coming Soon. According to the publication, this also reminds man (internally) and the audience (externally) that they are set for a global invasion. The new poster also indicates that the extraterrestrial forces might be interested in conquering the human race on a global scale, which is a tremendous leap from the city-sized UFOs that were featured in the first "Independence Day" film.

As 20th Century Fox has released a new poster, it is assumed that the company is also set to release a new trailer for the upcoming film sequel soon, as per Den of Geek.

Directed by Emmerich, "Independence Day: Resurgence" serves as a sequel to his 1996 film "Independence Day." Set twenty years following the first Independence Day invasion, Earth is set to face an new extra-terrestrial threat, which might challenge man's new space defenses and readiness.

The film stars a blend of old and new cast members, which include Judd Hirsch, Bret Spiner, Sela Ward, Jessle Usher, Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jeff Goldblum, Maika Monroe, William Fichtner, Angelababy, Joey King, and Liam Hemsworth, among others.

Emmerich's "Independence Day: Resurgence" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on June 22.
