'Supernatural' Season 12 Release Date, Spoilers: Producer Leaks Lucifer To Take Over New Vessel
Lucifer is set to take over a new vessel in the upcoming season of "Supernatural." This was revealed by executive producer Robert Singer during the San Diego Comic-Con 2016.
What makes the news even more surprising is that the new vessel is a famous one.
"The first vessel that Lucifer feels comfortable with is a rock star who's a little bit on the down side who's trying to come back," Singer said, according to Variety.
He further revealed that after abandoning the body of Castiel, Lucifer will search for a new rocking body which he can call home. The vessel that Lucifer will take over in the upcoming season is an unsuccessful singer named Vince Vicente. He will be played by "Jessie's Girl" singer Rick Springfield.
Executive producer Andrew Dabb revealed that the show wanted a real rock star who could act to play the role of Vince Vicente.
"If you've seen 'Ricki and The Flash' or 'True Detective' recently, he's really great," referring to Springfield's acting skills.
Meanwhile, it seems like the fans of Lucifer are not very happy about the season 12 casting. On his Twitter account, even Pellegrino, the actor who played the first vessel Nick, reacted to the new casting by retweeting angry fans and by sharing his own thoughts on the issue.
"I sort of like the idea of a mojo enhanced Nick madly hunting the archangel who f---ed up his vessel," tweeted Pellegrino.
Fans of Lucifer also petitioned against the new Lucifer casting by making the hashtag "NotMyLucifer" trend on Twitter.
"Supernatural" season 12 airs on Oct. 13, 9:00 p.m. on The CW.
