iMac 2016 Release Date News, Rumors & Specs: Oct. 27 Red-Marked As Launch Day?

The iMac 2016 release date is reportedly not going to be among the products introduced on the Apple event on Oct. 27, like the three models for the MacBook Pro for instance, at least that's what the rumors are claiming.

Noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that while he's certain Apple will announce the iMac 2016 release date soon, he's not entirely sure if it's going to be this week.

"We also expect Apple to launch new iMacs (21.5-inch and 27-inch) and Cinema Display (27-inch) in mid- 1H17," he said. "We cannot say for certain whether Apple will announce the new iMacs and Cinema Display on October 27 as the shipping schedule is not imminent."

Instead of the iMac 2016, what he thinks will be released on Oct. 27 date are the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro 2. The new devices will be equipped with the Skylake processor, better display panel, OLED touch bar, USB Typce-C and 2TB SSD storage capacity.

In related news, the iMac 2106 will reportedly feature an entirely new AMD Polaris graphics. The desktop is also capable of supporting virtual reality, although the word used is "workable," which is not much to go on.

If some of the rumors are to be believed, the iMac 2016 will have the Ultra HD 5K display, which would be good news for music editors and gamers. Again, don't expect Apple to confirm this one.

Watch out for more news on the iMac 2016, particularly on the release date especially if the desktop won't be announced during Apple's big event on Oct. 27.
