Iggy Azalea News, Rumors: 'Fancy' Rapper Says Goodbye to Twitter?

Australian rapper, model, and songwriter Iggy Azalea told her Twitter followers that she has decided to quit the popular social media network.

After numerous negative comments about a photo of her in a bikini while on vacation with her boyfriend in Hawaii, Azalea decided to not be a part of the negativity that infamously roams around the internet. In her last tweet, she powerfully said, "The internet is the ugliest reflection of mankind there is." Since then, this statement received about 12,000 retweets and over 14,000 favorites taps.

The photo in question wasn't the first negative thing the 24-year-old singer has had to face. Azalea was under scrutiny after she lashed out at Azealia Banks who was accusing her of not taking racial issues seriously last year. Rappers Snoop Dogg and Eminem have also had a turn at making fun of the Azalea in heated battles on both Twitter and Instagram. She has also had countless hackers mocking her over various social media sites, according to The Independent.

With all of the negativity, Azalea, following her announcement of leaving Twitter, said that she was tired of feeling angry all of the time and being a part of the petty drama surrounding her account. Azalea also told her followers that she would be handing her account over to her management. Azalea's Instagram and Facebook accounts are still run by her.

Azalea is a fairly newcomer to fame since her song "Fancy" with British singer Charli XCX topped number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in February of last year. She had four nominations at this year's Grammy Awards for Record of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best New Artist and Nest Rap Album.
