It was indeed a happy birthday for 'Twilight' star Nikki Reed after receiving a sweet cupcake with a candle on her 27^th birthday last May 17 from her new husband and 'Vampire Diaries' star Ian Somerhalder. Reed was treated like a princess in her birthday celebration especially since her husband knelt in front of her and presented her birthday cupcake.

It was a sweet gesture coming from Reed's husband, Somerhalder, kneeling down in front of her to hold the birthday girl's cupcake as she wished with her eyes closed. Somerhalder posted the sweet black and white photo on his Instagram account.

"Happy Birthday my love," Somerhalder wrote greeting his wife of only a few weeks on social media. "Me and the world celebrate you. And hope all of your dreams come true. I'm in awe of your compassion to create positive change in the world..." he added.

In the photo several of their friends were seen smiling and laughing at Somerhalder's sweet gesture for his wife. The two just recently got home from their vacation in Costa Rica which was also shared by Somerhalder in his Instagram post during their honeymoon.

The photo showed off the two newly married couple enjoying the heat of the sun with Somerhalder writing, "Thank you to this beautiful woman who makes every day a dream come true," captioning the photo again adoring his beautiful wife. "Pura Vida," he added.

The two dated for nine months and since then got engaged and got married right away at the Tuscali Mountain Inn in Topanga, California with some of their closest family and friends. The two said their I Do's in front of other celebrities including Somerhalder's co-stars Kat Graham, Paul Wesley, Matt Davis, and Phoebe Tonkin.
