'I am Setsuna' Release Date News, Rumors: Square Enix To Launch Game In Q3 2016, Revitalize 1990s RPGs

In line with video game releases, it is revealed that Square Enix's "I Am Setsuna" is set to hit gaming stores in the beginning of the third quarter of the year.

According to Techno Buffalo, "I Am Setsuna," a Japanese role-playing video game developed by Tokyo RPG Factory and published by Square Enix, is set to be released in North America on July 19 for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4. As per the publication, Square Enix is blasting the hype for its upcoming game, which is close to the genre of "Chrono Trigger."

The publication added that "I Am Setsuna" features new character illustrations, along with details of the heroine Setsuna and Endir, a skilled mercenary who became the former's bodyguard and the main playable character in the game. Also, the video game showcases stunning game visuals and design that gives fans a taste of conventional Japanse RPGs.

"I Am Setsuna" is bound to prove that Square Enix is still capable of producing a traditional JRPG. According to Twinfinite, playing the game allows players to experience it as if it is being played during the PlayStation 1 era. In other words, the video game blends PlayStation 1's "old-school" traits and PlayStation 4's "crisp and beautiful" visuals.

Set in a land under eternal winter, "I Am Setsuna" follows mercenary Endir and his maiden named Setsuna, who must sacrifice herself at a sacred shrine to help their locale get rid of vicious demons. With sadness as its central theme, the video game is intended to trace 1990s role-playing games.

Overall, Square Enix's "I Am Setsuna" is set to be released on July 19.
