While fans of 'Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2' will still have to wait till November for the movie to hit the theaters, they are keen for any kind of information related to the film. Recently, luck smiled on them when Jennifer Lawrence, who portrays the lead character of Katniss Everdeen in the much awaited movie, herself gifted them the the first photograph from the new film.

According to IB Times, while not all fans and critics were excited with the decision of the producers to turn Suzanne Collins' third and final book in the franchise into a two-part movie, it certainly permits the silver screen version of the story to go a little deeper into the rebellion mission led by Katniss against the Capitol in the final chapters of the "Hunger Games" trilogy.

In order to tease this aspect of the movie, Lawrence recently posted the first photograph from the upcoming 'Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2' on her Facebook page. The photograph shows Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Messalla (Evan Ross) and Finnick (Sam Claflin) dressed in complete combat gear in what seems to be a Capitol-contested warzone.

Soon after Lawrence posted the photo, many noticed that the actress had posted the photograph along with the caption: "6.9.15 #MockingjayPart2 #Unite." According to USA Today, this is certainly not the release date for the upcoming finale, as the producers had already announced that the movie would hit theaters on Nov. 20. Hence, it led many to suspect that the first trailer for 'Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2' may arrive on June 9. While the fans were earlier treated to a motion poster, the picture posted by Lawrence gives the first real glimpse at the characters that everyone knows and loves.

Meanwhile, Variety reported that in the upcoming movie, fans will see Katniss and President Snow face off in a final battle for the nation of Panem. According to the story in the books, Katniss leads a team, including an only a somewhat rehabilitated Peeta, on a daring mission to assassinate the evil dictator and win the revolution she started unknowingly.

ComicBook reports that in 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2,' Katniss faces mortal traps, deadly enemies and moral choices when she and her closest friends leave District 13 to launch an assassination attempt on President Snow.

In addition to Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks, Natalie Dormer, Woody Harrelson, Julianne Moore, Willow Shields, Jena Malone and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman will star in the film.
