'Hulk' Solo Movie News: Mark Ruffalo Talks Standalone Film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Mark Ruffalo, the actor who portrays the Hulk in the MCU, recently sat down with Collider to discuss a lot of things regarding his stint as the Marvel character, and what we can expect from him in the future.
While it has previously been said that Marvel wouldn't be producing a solo Hulk film, at least in the near future, Ruffalo explains while this may or may not be, but also hints that he would be interested.
In response to how many movies the actor is signed to do, he said, "I think it's four now, but that could always go further. That could include different-I could show up in another character's movie; I could do Avengers 3 and 4; I could do a Hulk standalone; I could do a combination of those things. That's four or five, I think."
With the plethora of characters in 'Captain America: Civil War,' there leaves question if the Hulk is to be featured.
"I don't know if I'm in it yet. I don't know. Sometimes these things happen at the last minute in this world. I really don't know where I fit in from here on out, and I'm not sure they do."
In response to starring in his own solo film, Ruffalo states:
"As far as a Hulk movie, a standalone Hulk movie, Marvel doesn't really have the rights to that yet. That's still Universal's property, so there's that issue. That's a big impediment to moving forward with that. Now I don't think that's insurmountable, by the way, but I don't know where it's going from here for me."
There is currently no Hulk movie in the MCU movie lineup, so if this were to ever happen, either things would need to be moved around, which isn't likely, or we wouldn't receive one until 2020.
