Hugh Jackman News: Actor Wants To Play Wolverine Role For Future Movies
I don't think any X-Men fan would disagree in saying that Hugh Jackman has portrayed the role as Wolverine flawlessly and I'm sure if we could all have our way, he would stay in the role forever.
It was recently expressed in an interview with E! Online that the actor actually feels the same way. He attributes this feeling with the Oscar award winning film 'Birdman' in saying that it stirred something inside him. Jackman says:
"I said to my wife, 'The moral is that I should never stop playing Wolverine. I've got to find a way to keep playing him until I die.' I know that someday they'll recast the role with another actor... I'd be happy if the role was eventually recast. It would mean that it had become iconic."
Its obvious Jackman is very passionate for the role which is always amazing to see in actors. He also goes on to say how he prepares himself for every Wolverine role.
"I always want to be in better shape than I was for the last one. I don't believe in stagnation. People say they try to maintain the status quo. But I believe the natural cycle means you're either advancing and getting closer to something or you're receding...Every time I play Wolverine I want to go further, physically and emotionally."
The only future film confirmed for Jackman as Wolverine is his third-solo film releasing in 2017, however it is unconfirmed if Wolverine will appear in 'X-Men: Age of Apocalypse' in 2016.
