Huawei News: Tech Titan Unveils Honor 7 for Chinese Market; Features and Specs of New Smartphone
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei has finally unveiled its Honor 7 smartphone for the upper mid-range market in China. The device will succeed the Honor 6 which arrived last year. The company has already started taking preorders for the smartphone in China and shipping will commence next Tuesday.
IB Times reports that the Honor 7 comes with an aluminum alloy and is available in three colors - silver, gold and dark gray. The device features a 5.2-inch display that backs full HD resolution.
Rather than packing the smartphone with a Snapdragon or MediaTek chipset, Huawei has incorporated its own Kirin 935 chipset comprising an octa-core processor and Mali-T628 graphics. The SoC is backed up by 3 GB RAM.
On the camera front, the device boasts a primary 20 megapixel rear camera with a dual-LED flash, while the lens of the camera is protected by sapphire glass. It also comes with an 8 megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies. There is a fingerprint scanner just below the rear camera.
The Honor 7 will be come in three variants.While tThe single SIM variant is available with 16 GB internal storage capacity and is priced at 1,999 yuan ($320), the dual-SIM variant costs 2,199 yuan ($355). The third variant, a 64 GB dual-SIM version is priced at 2,499 yuan ($400).
The internal storage capacity of all the three variants of Honor 7 is expandable storage up to 128 GB via a microSD flash memory card. In addition, all three variants of the new smartphone support LTE and NFC connectivity.
Huaewi Honor 7 will come loaded with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, overlaid with an Emotion 3.1 launcher. It is powered by a battery of 3,100 mAh unit together with quick-charging support.
As of now, it is not clear as to when Huawei will make the Honor 7 available outside China. According to CNET, along with the Honor 7, the company also introduced the Honor Band Zero wearable device as well as the Honor Whistle Bluetooth headset at the launch event in Beijing on Tuesday.
