Huawei P8 and P8 Max Specs, Release Date & Price News: Device Recently Unveiled in London; Launches in May

Chinese brand Huawei has just recently announced the upcoming release of their new flagship phone P8 and phablet P8 Max, dropping their standard model name 'Ascend'. The brand had shown off their budget-friendly yet stylish devices in London recently.

Huawei P8 was seen to have a sleek metallic frame with 6.4 mm thickness with a 1080 x 1920 pixel screen resolution. The phone has 4 colors that interested buyers can choose from: Titanium Grey, Gold, Mystic Champagne, and Carbon Black. While it shows an elegant façade, Huawei P8 boasts well-to-do performing pieces inside it.

The P8 contains Huawei's brand HiSilicon Kirin 930 chip that is paired with an 8 core, 64-bit, 2000 MHz, ARM Cortex A-53 E AND Arm Cortex-A53. It has 64 GB built-in storage expandable up to 128 GB. With the processor capacity, the P8 takes a 4360 mAh battery that can last up to 16 hours with Internet browsing and video streaming.

According to Huawei, the new devices point out mainly on how it can help with user's creativity especially in photos. So they had amped up the camera to 13 MP at the back and 5 MP up front with a high performing F 2.0 aperture and a dual LED flash.

Meanwhile the P8 Max, the up-size version of the P8, has almost the same specs aside from the screen size and the battery which is 6.8 inch with 1080p resolution and 4360 mAh, respectively. The P8 Max is dual-sim capable unlike the P8 which only supports a solo pocket for simcards.

Both devices are good investments and friendly to personal savings just like its older sibling the 'Ascend P7' which was less than $500. However, European buyers can get the 32 GB at €549 while the 62 GB version can be bought at €649.

US buyers can expect confirmed retail prices for the P8 and P8 Max exactly during the release in May.
