Huawei Nexus 5 Rumors, News: New Specs and Release Date of Upcoming Google Device Leaked
According to latest rumors, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei will be making Google's upcoming Nexus smartphone, or at least one of them, in case the Mountain View, California-based tech titan decides to come out with more than one version of the device.
Christian Today reports that earlier rumors stated that Google plans to launch two new handsets this year. One of these upcoming handsets would be made by the South Korean tech titan LG Electronics, which also manufactured the Nexus 4 (2012) and the Nexus 5 (2013). Meanwhile, Huawei is reported to have been entrusted with the job of making the second Nexus phone, which is expected to be released soon.
Meanwhile tech news tipster Evan Blass has posted some leaked information regarding the nexus phone purportedly made by Huawei in his @evleaks Twitter account, which also includes a number of the likely specs as well as the expected release date of the device.
The details leaked by Blass about the specs of the purported Huawei Nexus "sounds impressive so far." The device is likely to sport a 5.7-inch QHD touchscreen display, come with a metal body casing, a fingerprint reader, and pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. In addition, Blass stated that the upcoming Huawei-made Nexus device will be available in stores in the last quarter of 2015.
According to reports, the fingerprint reader will come in useful, particularly if the alleged Apple Pay competitor called Android Pay is also unveiled in the coming days. Blass, who has a good history of credible leaks in the past, also confirmed that the Nexus smartphone manufactured by Huawei will feature a USB Type-C port that can be employed for charging the device as well as connecting it to other devices.
Earlier reports regarding the Nexus 2015 also claimed that the Huawei-made Nexus device will run on Google's upcoming Android M operating system straight out of the box, as the tech giant generally displays their latest mobile OS together with a new smartphone during its release.
