Huawei Mate S: New Smartphone Unveiled at IFA 2015, Beats Apple with Force Touch Feature? [VIDEO]
As far as the Force Touch feature is concerned, it seems that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei has jumped the gun on Apple with the unveiling of its flagship device Huawei Mate S at the IFA 2015. However, it is unlikely that customers will be able to lay their hands on the device immediately.
According to Christian Today, the Huawei Mate S made quite an impression at the Berlin IFA 2015. It is a new high-end midrange phone that may possibly give the yet-to-be introducedd iPhone 6S a serious run for its money.
The Huawei Mate S sports a pretty sleek design and offers outstanding features. The device comes with a 5.5-inch ultra HD display boasting 401 pixels-per-inch (ppi) and Gorilla Glass 4. Like several other smartphones that have adopted curved display technology, the Huawei Mate S also comes with one.
In addition, the appearance of Huawei Mate S has a close resemblance to the purported iPhone 6S. The device incorporates Force Touch technology also, but apparently this familiar feature is just the tip of the iceberg.
Huawei Mate S also sports a number of other features like the Knuckle Sense technology, which may help users interface with their knuckles instead of only using their fingers.
In addition to the above mentioned new technologies, the Huawei Mate S also boasted its new cameras at the IFA 2015. The device sports a 13-megapixel primary rear camera that comes with a RGBW sensor, optical image stabilization, and an independent signal processor unit. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel camera aided by soft light, which should give selfie-loving picture takers something to look forward to.
It is expected that Huawei will launch the Mate S by Sept. 15 in Western European regions with prices starting at £476 for the 32 GB internal storage version, while a 64 GB internal storage variant will cost a bit more at £513.
But those who are looking forward to using the Force Touch technology, the two previously mentioned variants will reportedly not come with it right now. It seems that the new technology will come with the 128 GB variant, which will follow at a later time.
