Huawei Mate 8 Video Leak News: Mate 7 Successor to Come with 6-Inch Display, Two Variants Expected
A recent video leak shows what is believed to be the successor of Huawei Mate 7, which has been dubbed as the Mate 8. This device comes with the model number M200-UL00. A short video clip uploaded on YouTube reveals some key specifications of the upcoming purported device.
A report in IB Times says that while the Huawei Mate 8 is scheduled for release on Sept. 2, the device has already been revealed in an 18-second video clip posted by the dependable tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer on YouTube channel. At the time of writing this news, the user has removed the video.
As shown in the video clip, Mate 8 is supposed to sport a 6.0-inch display, rendering 1,440 x 2,560 pixels QHD screen resolution. According to the report, this display combination means that the device will offer a pixel density of 490 ppi. It is reported to be powered by the company's own Kirin 950 SoC.
Meanwhile Phone Arena reports that usually Chinese smartphone manufacturers have started a trend of making two versions of new models, and it is expected that Huawei too will follow the pattern. It is expected that one of the Huawei Mate 8 variants will come with a 3 GB of RAM configuration, besides accommodating 32 GB of built-in storage space. The second Mate 8 model will feature a killer 4 GB of RAM unit, alongside 64 GB of internal storage space.
The purported Huawei Mate 8 is also expected to sport a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing primary camera, in addition to an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies. It will also have a fingerprint scanner just below the primary rear camera unit.
While there is no information regarding the battery unit of the upcoming Huawei Mate 8, it may be noted that its predecessor, the Mate 7, packs an awesome 4,100 mAh battery. Therefore, it is expected that the Mate 8 will also be equipped with an outstanding battery.
All said and done, Huawei is yet to make any official announcement regarding the upcoming Mate 8.
