Huawei Honor 4A Launch News: New Device Comes With 5-Inch HD Display, Android 5.1, 8-MP Camera and More
Huawei, Chinese multinational networking and telecommunications company, launched a budget smartphone dubbed as Honor 4A in China on Tuesday last. The new device comes with attractive specifications and its 3G-only variant retails for less than $100.
A report in IB Times states that specifications of the new Huawei Honor 4A are very modest and the device sports a large 7-inche display supporting a HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. According to Phone Arena, the device comes in a metal frame that runs along its edges.
Huawei Honor 4A is powered by a Snapdragon 210 chipset clocked at 1.1 GHz through it quad-core processor. The chipset comes along with Adreno 304 graphics and is is coupled with 2GB of RAM.
According to GSM Arena, it is surprising that Huawei has packed 2GB of RAM in a low budget phone. The device comes with an internal storage capacity of 8GB, while its external storage supports up to 32GB via a microSD slot. Huawei Honor 4A comes preloaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop, which is overlaid with Huawei's proprietary software, Emotion UI 3.1.
On the camera front, the device sports an 8-megapixel primary rear shhoter that comes with a single LED flash. In addition, it comes with a 2-megapixel snapper for capturing selfies. The Huawei Honor 4A is a dual-SIM handset is available in two versions - the first version only supports 3G connectivity, while the second supports 4G LTE connectivity. The connectivity options offered by the device include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS as well as microUSB.
The device packs a modest 2,000 mAh battery unit.
The Huawei Honor 4A version that only supports 3G connectivity comes for 599 yuan ($98) in China, while the LTE model costs 699 yuan ($112). The USD prices mentioned are in accordance with the current exchange rates.
As of now, it is not certain whether the handset will be made available outside China.
Meanwhile, there are rumors that Huawei will unveil its new flagship smartphone, the Huawei Mate 8, on Sept. 2 at the IFA 2015 event in Berlin.
The specifications of the Huawei Mate 8 include a 6-inche Quad HD screen, Kirin 950 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 20.7-megapixel camera and more.
