With the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona just a few weeks away, several tech firms are spicing things up as well as adding final touches to their latest devices probably for unveiling or releasing at the March event. For instance, the Chinese OEM manufacturer Huawei is likely to unveil its Ascend Mate 8 and P8 smartphones on March 1, when the tech firm is scheduled to hold an event for the media.

According to Christian Today, the Chinese tech manufacturer has already released the invitations for the event wherein Huawei will showcase its handsets prominently. The invites suggest that Huawei will use the event to bring up a number of "surprises that will empower you to set your dreams free."

Meanwhile, there are speculations that Huawei will launch the next generation handsets of the company's two most popular product lines. It has been reported that the purported handsets were spotted some time back.

Last year, Huawei had a remarkable performance, as the OEM manufacturer was able to augment its market share as well as profits, despite the severe competition in the smartphone market. The company managed to increase its market share by releasing some wonderful smartphones.

A Twitter user named Sasha Babyuk recently tweeted the supposed images of Huawei Ascend Mate 8 and also tagged them to a variety of tech publications like GSMArena, PhoneArena, and GizChina. While the source of the photographs is yet to be ascertained, the photos were accompanied by Chinese characters, suggesting that the leaked images originated in China or the supply chain.

As the leaked photos suggest, the purported Ascend Mate 8 will feature the same, familiar aluminum body and have a screen-to-body feature. It is believed that both these features were the selling points of the earlier handsets from the company. The large display of the upcoming smartphone suggests that the device will be a tablet-smartphone hybrid. Nevertheless, the screen resolution of the device is still not known.

As of now, Huawei has not made any official announcement regarding the specs of its purported handsets or their release date. Nevertheless, expectations are high as the Huawei press event draws closer.
