HTC Wearable Device Release Date Rumors: New Wearable Fitness Device Released at CES 2015

HTC, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer, will join the ranks of Apple, Sony, Google, Samsung and LG next year when it launches its first wearable device at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015.

According to Christian Post, a representative of the company recently told Venturebeat that HTC is preparing for the event, but the device will not be a smartwatch.

A press communique released by HTC recently stated that the company "will work closely with other companies who have already done significant work in developing apps for activities such as fitness." This is an indication that the wearable device will not be a smartphone, but a gadget aimed at fitness freaks.

An earlier report had asserted that HTC would launch its new wearable device in 2014 end, but postponed its plans as the device is not yet ready.

Tech experts are of the view that following the launch of the Nexus 9 handset in collaboration with Google this year, the confidence levels of HTC have enhanced and now the company is prepared to explore other markets. It is also ready to take on its competitors with new products.

Meanwhile, there are reports that HTC is also gearing up for the release of its latest flagship smartphone HTC One M9 smartphone, which is likely to be named "Hima".

Reports in a number of publications, including Upleaks, have revealed the specs and features of HTC One M9. It is being speculated that the upcoming smartphone will come with a 5-inch Full HD screen display and pack a Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor with 2.0 GHz quad-core A57+ 1.5GHz quad-core A53 clusters.

These reports claim that the other specs of the smartphone include a 20.7-megapixel Sony Exmor RS IMX220 sensor or 13-megapixel back camera having a 4 Ultrapixel front shooter. In addition, the handset will have 32 GB internal storage, come with a 2840 mAh battery, run on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with HTC Sense 7 UI and have an aluminum body as well as front-facing speakers.
