HTC One M9 Release Date Rumors: Shipment Delayed Due to Software Problems & Bugs?

As per schedule, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturers HTC was supposed to ship its latest flagship device One M9 on Monday, March 16. However, the company failed to keep its deadline and there are reports that the release was shelved owing to a pressing bug problem, which prevented the premium device from booting properly.

According to Christian Today, there is no doubt that the Taiwanese tech giant did not want to ruin its remarkable impression on the tech community by releasing a bug-afflicted HTC One M9, thereby failing to keep its promise of offering an optimal mobile experience. Hence, the company decided to put the rollout on hold temporarily.

Nevertheless, besides fixing the bug, HTC will also have to handle the desperate customers who have already pre-ordered the handset. Frustrated over not availing the much-anticipated device on the expected day, the buyers are now getting annoyed knowing that HTC is making them wait days or weeks before they can receive the unit.

It appears that HTC will not commence shipping the 32 GB version of the HTC One M9 from March 20, while those who pre-ordered the 64 GB variant will be receiving the device the end of March. Meanwhile, Focus Taiwan, the publication that first reported the news, said that HTC is utilizing the days it asked for to enable it to equip the new smartphone with the "latest version of software."

However, failure to deliver the new smartphone on the scheduled date actually brings a bad name for HTC. On the other hand, the shelving of HTC One M9 release date has provided its rival Samsung an advantage in pushing its latest Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Edge, the flagships devices that are already enjoying massive attention from the tech world.

As for the specs of the HTC One M9, the device is packed with a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3 GB of RAM and comes with a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera. It retails at around 650 euro for the 32 GB model and 715 euro for the 64 GB variant.
