HTC One M9 Release Date Delay Rumors: Taiwanese Tech Titan Pushes Back Launch Date?
According to a report from the Focus Taiwan news channel, the highly anticipated HTC One M9 has been delayed for a few days.
The shipment for the newest Taiwan-based phone company was pushed back from March 16 to Friday, March 20. In an e-mail reply to CNA, HTC announced that the company was providing, "the latest version of software ... for its newest handset."
Rumors speculate that the new phones are having software issues, causing them to have boot failures. According to ZDNet, the Dutch site Tweakers reported that the HTC One M9 is also overheating in benchmark tests, which could also be causing the delay.
Also, consumers who made pre-orders received text messages from HTC stores stating that their orders would be delayed until the supposed software issues were fixed.
The 32GB model of the new phone will launch four days later than expected while the 64GB model is set back clear until the end of the month. The 32 GB Model is priced at NT $21, 900 ($692 USD), and the 64GB Model is priced at NT $23,900 ($756 USD).
The HTC One M9 is full of desirable features and specs. It comes with a 5.0-inch display with a 1.5GHz processor. The screen resolution is 1080x1920 pixels and has 3GB of RAM. The rear camera is a 20-megapixel one and also comes with a 4-ultrapixel front camera. The battery capacity is 2840mAh, and the new handset comes with Google's Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed.
The new devices outer look is something worth mentioning too. It will have an all-metal design and will be available in three colors. The colors are dual-toned silver and rose gold, single-tone gunmetal grey and single-toned gold.
