HTC One M9 Release Date, Concept Design: New Rumors Claim HTC Targeting Phablet Market With Wider Device
Although the release date of the purported HTC One M9 is a distant affair, new reports and images regarding the concept of the device keep popping up on the Internet from time to time, speculating about the possible features of the upcoming handset from the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer.
Christian Today draws our attention to the concept image of the purported HTC One M9 by designer Rishi Ramesh. This tech enthusiast visualizes the device having wider body. In addition to a wider body, the upcoming HTC One M9 will include the characteristic features of the HTC handset, such as a metal case, Boom Sound speakers and a dual camera along with a dual tone flash.
It is interesting to note that Ramesh's concept design for the upcoming HTC One M9 is somewhat the same as that of his blueprint for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. In a way, it suggests that the Ramesh is of the view that the One M9 will be larger compared to the current One M8 and will vie for the phablet market. His concept design for Galaxy Note 5 also reveals that the size of the device's display screen size will be somewhat akin to that of a miniature tablet.
HTC smartphones have generally received good reviews from critics owing to their premium specs and features coupled with a sleek and stylish design. Even fans have high hopes from HTC and they expect the One M9 to be a great device that can compete with the handsets of tech majors like Samsung, LG and Apple.
According to earlier rumors, the HTC One M9 will come in a new casing made from an unnamed composite material. In addition, it was rumored that the upcoming device will have a 5.2-inch screen panel along with QHD or 2K pixel resolution and having 564 pixel density. It was also said that the device would be powered by Qualcomm's most recent quad core Snapdragon 805 chipset couped with 3 GB of RAM.
As of now, it is certain that the One M9 will run on Google's latest mobile OS Android 5.0 Lollipop. It is speculated that the device will be available in two internal storage variants - 64 GB and/ or 128 GB, and will incorporate superior cameras and battery.
While HTC has yet to make any announcement, speculations are there that the HTC One M9 will be released in March 2015 sometime during the Mobile World Congress tech event in Barcelona, which begins on March 2.
