It is being speculated that while the regular version of the upcoming handset will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC chipset, the one for the Chinese market will be equipped with a Media Tek processor.
In 2014, there were rumors that HTC would be delaying the launch of the M9 'Hima' owing to overheating problems faced by Qualcomm, in addition to some issues related to the GPU driver with its Snapdragon 810 chipsets. However, Qualcomm refuted the allegations and it is very likely that HTC may want to introduce its Chinese variant.
It is being rumored that HTC did not showcase the HTC One M9 'Hima' at the CES 2015 because the company want to introduce it at the upcoming Mobile World Congress scheduled to be held in Barcelona from March 2 to 5 this year.
Although the HTC is yet to confirm the hardware specifications of the One M9 'Hima', there are rumors that the smartphone will come with a 5-inch screen having a display of 1080p Super LCD3 resolution. In addition, the device will have 3 GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel front camera and a 20.7 megapixel rear camera.
The upcoming HTC One M9 'Hima' is also likely to be very slim, having a thickness of just 7 mm and will pack a 2840 mAh battery. The device will run on Google's latest mobile operating system - Android 5.0 Lollipop.
HTC has also not confirmed the price range of the upcoming smartphone. However, it is believed that the company will try to maintain its price as that of its existing flagship smartphone - the One M8, which was launched with a price tag of $649.99 off-contract for the base model.
