HTC One M9 ‘Hima’ Release Date, Specs and Price Rumors: Features New Chipset

There is limited news on HTC's upcoming flagship smartphone, the One M9 "Hima," but rumors have it that interested consumers can expect the phone in March 2015 with a new chipset.

The HTC One M9 "Hima" was a no-show at the recent International 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, but that did not stop rumors and speculation from coming around as consumers and gadget enthusiasts figure out what "Hima" has to offer.

The latest rumors claim that the "Hima" is coming out with a Snapdragon 810 chipset, save for those being released in China, which will come with a MediaTek chipset.

HTC allegedly encountered problems with the Snapdragon 810 overheating, and while Qualcomm was said to have resolved the issue, HTC could potentially pick up the MediaTek chipsets for their Asian market because of its cheaper price.

It was also rumored that instead of a showing at the CES 2015, HTC will introduce the handset at the upcoming Mobile World Congress, which will be held from March 2 to 5 in Barcelona.

HTC has yet to confirm the latest rumors though, and also has yet to comment on previous rumors that have been circulating.

Previous rumors stated that the Hima will come with a 5-inch screen, a display of 1080p Super LCD3 resolution, 3GB of RAM, 13mp front camera and a 20.7 rear camera. It's also slim at only 7mm, with a battery power of 2840 mAh and will also come with the Android 5.0 Lollipop right out of the box. It's also said to come in shades of silver and gold, gold and dark gunmetal and dark gunmetal.

As for the price, some are comparing it to its predecessor as the One M7's price tag settled at £450 (around $680) and the One M8 originally came out at £550 (around $830). Based on its rumored specs, some are expecting the price somewhere between £500 and £600 (around $756 and $907).
