HTC One M8 vs. HTC One M9 Comparison: Review of Specs & Features of HTC's Top Phones
With the release of the HTC M8, which was launched on March of this year (2014,) it's no mystery that the device was widely received in the smartphone market. However, its successor, the HTC M9 which is rumored to be launched in March 2015, leaves many wondering which will be better, the M8 or the M9?
The HTC One M8's has 5.0 inches of display size. This means that its resolution is a crystal clear 1920x1080. It has a Super LCD3 touch screen which supports multitouch. Additionally, it has a 5MP camera along with the Android Kitkat OS (4.4.2).
What's most important is the fact that its battery can last for a whopping 71 hours. It also has a phenomenal processing speed of 2.3 GHz with the Quad-Core CPU and well as speakers producing clean and clear sound.
Its sleek design also gives it a sophisticated appearance that would make one want to own such a smartphone, says GSM Arena.
However, according to a review done by CNET, "the battery is not use-removable which makes it harder to replace the battery once it wears out. It is also not water proof and its pictures are not [as sharp as its Samsung and Apple Smartphone competitors]."
What's interesting is that the price starts off at US$ 899.99 and can be as low as US$ 199.99 when looking at a Verizon Wireless phone plan. With all this in mind, it is no surprise that it the M8 has received positive reviews when it was first launched, but what can we say about the upcoming M9? Can it succeed its predecessor?
The HTC M9 is rumored to be officially released on March 2015. According to Android Pit, the M9 might be a little bit cheaper than M8.
Although still rumored, it will be waterproof unlike the M8. According to Android Pit, it has a Quad-Core of 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 810 processor which means it is faster than the M8. It has a 5.5 inch WQHD display which means that it will have a sharper display than the M8's 5.0 inch display. As it relates to storage space, it has 3 GB of RAM which is more than the M8. It also has a casing made out of a composite that comprises both aluminum and silicone which would make it lighter, according to Android Pit.
With the limited details available for the M9, versus what is known about the M8, it can be argued that the M9 will make a fine successor to the M8 as it has superior specifications. However some critics will argue that the M9 might only be a slight tweak of the M8 Prime.
