HTC One M8 Review: Beautiful Design Mixed With High-End Android Smartphone Features
Despite the fact that details regarding the HTC One M8 were leaked many days ago, people had to wait long for its launch. Now that it has arrived, let us take a close look at the specifications of the device and see if the wait has been worthwhile.
The expectations on the device are higher this time round as the original HTC One was such a big commercial success and was highly praised by critics. So what does the new device have in store for us?
Design and Build
At a press briefing, the manufacturers claimed that the design and build of the device would be one of the USPs of HTC One M8. HTC is firmly of the belief that consumers prefer a handset that is attractive and finely crafted with very specific attention to quality in the areas that most matter to users.
The success of Apple's iPhones, which are designed beautifully, has been built on this view too.
Thus, the exterior of this handset with plenty of curves looks great and also feels good to hold. The device is slick and brings out a cool edge with the punched speaker grilles. The power button has been shifted to the top right for ease of operation, while the headphone port has been moved to its base.
Dot View Cases
The new device comes with a Dot View (soft-touch plastic flip cover fitted to the back panel of the device) case available in many colors. The Dot Case displays the time as well as weather via dots every time you activate the handset.
Display
HTC One M8 sports a large 5-inch panel with high definition 1080p resolution and 440ppi pixel density.
Compared to the original device, the screen is lot more bright having a richer display of colors. In addition, it has a wonderful viewing angle and can also be used in sunlight while maintaining good visibility.
Hardware Storage & Connectivity
HTC One M8 has 16GB storage with a micro SD slot capable of supporting cards up to 128 GB. It also has a 32 GB variant that will not be available in all markets.
Like any other standard high end Android device, this device supports 3G and 4G networks, Wi Fi as well as Bluetooth, in addition to other connectivity options.
