HTC One E9+ Specs & Features News: Taiwanese Tech Titan Unveils Upcoming Phablet
Following several weeks of speculations, Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC Corporation has quietly unveiled its latest phablet on the company's Chinese website. Apart from some minor differences, the One E9+ is somewhat similar to what fans saw on the certification database earlier this month, reports Engadget.
According to the report, the 5.5-inch Quad HD (534 ppi) display of this part metal and part plastic handset is its biggest USP. In fact, the One E9+ has the sharpest screen that has been ever used on any HTC smartphone. However, there seems to be some confusion over what's offered.
Strangely enough, the specs sheet on the website talks about a 1080 pixel resolution, which is perhaps meant for a lesser quality model of the device. Similarly, the website description of the device states that it comes with 2GB RAM, and not 3GB RAM, and a 13-megapixel primary rear camera, instead of the 20-megapixel version that was stated on the product page.
However, the remaining specs of the phablet are the same as what was mentioned on the certification database. The device has an Ultrapixel front facing camera, updated trade mark BoomSound speakers with Dolby Audio, in addition to the latest metal design language - these features seemed to have been borrowed from the HTC One M9.
If the remaining specs are correct, the device is packed with a 64-bit, octa-core 2GHz MT6795M chipset from MediaTek, 16GB of internal storage, expandable up to128GB via microSD, dual Nano SIM slots, an a 2,800mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the handset offers multi-mode LTE along with 802.11ac WiFi. All of these wonderful features are packed inside a 7.49 mm-thick body.
HTC, however, has yet to announce the official release date of the device and its price tag. On that note, chances of the new phablet being available outside Asia seem to be slim at the moment.
