HTC One E9 Leaks, Rumors: Photos & Specs Leaked for Upcoming Budget Smartphone
When HTC announced a new One E8 version to run with their One M8 last year, many consumers were eager to get their hands on a similar yet slightly more affordable phone. This year, an One E9 version for the One M9 is looking to come as well. However, the E9 phablet will be substantially different than its more expensive partner.
In a leak from China's telecommunications equipment certification center, also known as TENAA, the phone was revealed with a couple of images. Specifics on the phone's outer material are uncertain, but it will probably be a plastic case, making the price a little lower.
The colors will be featured as a two-tone which is being done with the One M9 as well. Colors for the phone include rose gold, metallic gray, and brown gold.
According the report from the TENAA, the phone will have a 5.5-inch QHD Display, the first device by HTC to do so. It will also have a 2800 mAh battery and will be 7.54 mm thick.
Since the announcement, Upleaks has also leaked more specific specs on the One E9 as well. Instead of a Qualcomm 810 processor that is in the One M9, the One E9 will have a Media Tek 64-bit 8-core processor. Other features include 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM, BoomSound speakers, Bluetooth 4.1, Android 5.0 Lollipop, and Desire Sense 7.0.
The release date has yet to be announced, but people speculate that more details will be revealed at a press event in China. They will probably the phone's launch date to be towards the end of this month, and the device will probably be priced at around $320. The phones will most likely only be available in Asia unless HTC does what it did with the One E8 and sold those exclusively to US phone carrier Sprint.
