HTC Desire 728 Specs Leak News: Upcoming Mid-Range Handset to Sport 5.5-Inch Display, May be Sold Only in China
Soon after the HTC Desire 728 visited China's regulatory agency TENNA for certification, several images of the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer's upcoming handset were leaked online. While HTC is yet to make any official announcement regarding the Desire 728, it seems that the Desire 820's successor is ready for launch sometime in the near future.
Quoting a report in Phone Arena, Christian Today said that as what is evident from the images on the TENNA website, the top and bottom bezels of this mid-range device are smaller, compared to what HTC normally uses in its handsets. As a result, the HTC Desire 728 appears to be slightly shorter when placed beside other HTC smartphones. Even so, as expected, the device sports dual front-facing BoomSound speakers.
Images of the Desire 728 reveal that the smartphone has a metal frame and its rear is polycarbonate. According to reports, the device is likely to get a fingerprint magnet on its rear. In addition, the handset comes with a microSD card slot as well as a SIM slot hidden by an elongated flap on one side, while the other side accommodates the power button and volume rocker.
The remaining of the specs of the upcoming HTC Desire 728, as exposed by previous leaks and rumors, include a 5.5-inch 720p display and a MediaTek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. It is expected that this will work adequately with a 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded.
According to reports in several media outlets, the HTC Desire 728 will come with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies. The device is expected to run Android 5.1 Lollipop on top of the HTC Sense 7 UI, which has been incorporated for some personal touch. The smartphone will pack an impressive 2800 mAh battery unit.
Phone Arena reports that the device measures 157.9 mm x 77.8 mm x 7.87 mm and weighs 150 g. It further claims that the HTC Desire 728 may only be sold in China. Nevertheless, HTC has plans to change things up in the design department for future handsets.
