HTC Desire 626 Specs: Mid-Range Smartphone Variant to Compete with Moto G (2014 Version)
Taiwanese tech manufacturer has HTC has just released a low-end smartphone called the Desire 626. The device, which intends to cater to the lower range smartphone market, it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset paired with quad-core processors along with 1 GB of RAM.
According to Christian Today, Desire 626 is likely to offer stiff competition to the Motorola's Moto G (2014 version). Although HTC is yet to announce the price range of the Desire 626, it is believed that the price of Desire 626 will be in the same range as that of the Moto G with a view to give the company a competitive advantage in the market.
The Desire 626 comes with a 5-inch 720p display, in addition to a 13 megapixel rear camera, while it features a 5 megapixel front camera. Significantly, despite catering to the lower tier category smartphone market, the device packs an LTE modem for higher mobile carrier speeds.
On the other hand, one of the not-so-attractive features of the HTC Desire 626 is that it packs a modicum battery pack of 2,000 mAh. Like the upcoming flagship devices of HTC, the Desire 626 will be available in another variant that will have the same name and pack a MediaTek chipset. The other specs of these two devices will remain the same.
However, both the devices have some differences too, as each variant of HTC Desire 626 will cater to different regions. The Desire 626 that will be packing the Snapdragon 410 chipset will probably be sold to the regions of U.S. and Europe, while the variant that is carrying the MediaTek chipset will be marketed in China.
Although HTC is yet to comment on as to when the mid-ranged devices will be available at the stores. As of now, it does not appear that the HTC Desire 626 variants will be released anytime soon, as the company is currently busy preparing the release its highly anticipated flagship smartphones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in Barcelona, Spain, in the first week of March.
