HTC Butterfly 3 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Device Likely to Launch in Second Half of 2015
If recent reports are to be believed, Chinese tech manufacturer HTC may launch its upcoming smartphone - the HTC Butterfly 3 (code named B3), some time during the second half of 2015.
According to IBTimes, a recent leak in this regard by Upleaks comes just two weeks prior to HTC unveiling its upcoming flagship smartphone - HTC One M9, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 trade show in Barcelona, Spain, which starts March 1.
However, not much is known about the specs and features of the HTC Butterfly, alias B3. It is expected that the HTC Butterfly 3 will come with a 5.2-inch WQHD screen - something larger compared to the HTC One M9, which is like to sport a 5-inch full HD display with 1,920 x 1,080 screen resolution and be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor.
The HTC Butterfly 3 will succeed the Butterfly 2, which was announced in August 2014 and was available at the stores in September last year.
As for the features of the Butterfly 2, the device comes with a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen rendering 1,080 x 1,920 pixels (441 ppi pixel density). The second-gen HTC Butterfly is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.5 GHz, runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, and is packed with 16/32 GB internal memory. It has an internal memory of 2GB RAM and microSD for expanding the internal memory up to 128GB.
The other features of HTC Butterly 3 include a non-removable Li-Po 2700mAh battery, and dual 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front shooter. In addition, the handset is available with add-ons such as IPX7 certified dust-proof and water-resistant up to 1 meter and 30 minutes. It also comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, hotspot, Bluetooth as well as NFC.
