‘HTC Aero’ Specs Rumors, News: Leaks Suggest Device Named HTC A9 to Come in October

Some time back, HTC CEO Cher Wang had told the company's investors that they were working on a new "Hero" smartphone which would be released in October. Now, a latest report states that Wang was referring to the handset internally code named HTC Aero.

Meanwhile, IB Times reports that several leaked configuration details of the HTC Aero surfaced and a new report claims that the "HTC Aero" will be released as "HTC A9." The report further offers details regarding the handset's key configurations and pricing.

The originating in China stated a superior deca-core (MediaTek) Helio X20 processor will power the HTC A9 or HTC Aero. In addition, it reported that this handset will use the 2.5D curved glass display, ensuring excellent viewing experience.

According to the report, the HTC A9 will apparently be available in two colors options - Dark Grey and Tyrant Gold. Meanwhile, citing a rumor, Phone Arena reported that AT&T will offer the handset in the U.S. upon release.

There are reports that HTC has been working on a "pioneering rear camera" unit for the HTC A9. It is worth mentioning here that the Taiwanese giant has been constantly criticized for the inferior camera units of its devices. Even the unique ultra pixel camera seen in the flagship HTC handsets were unable to compete against high-end handsets from other OEMs, including Apple, Samsung and LG. Precisely speaking, Forbes reported that the camera unit of HTC One M9 flagship device reportedly performed worse compared to that of the Apple iPhone 4S.

In addition, similar to other premium HTC handsets, the upcoming HTC A9 is also expected to boast a full-metal build.

In terms of pricing, the HTC A9 will reportedly cost between $470 and $626.
