HTC 10 Release Date News, Specs Rumors, Price: New Device To Ship This May; Mixed First Impression?
The release date for HTC 10 will be announced any day now as the pre-orders have already started. Meanwhile, those who got first look at the device are still on the fence whether the phone should be rightfully called a flagship.
According to iDigital Trends, an unlocked version of the HTC 10 is being sold for $700, which already includes a full-replacement warranty for one year if anything happens to the screen.
But the device is also being offered by major US carriers like T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon, with the latter listing the price for the pre-order at $22.83 a month for two years at zero downpayment.
For the specs, the HTC 10 is quite competitive with a 564 ppi pixel density and Quad HD 2650x1440 resolution for the screen. At its heart is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 mated to the Adreno 530 GPU along with the 4GB of RAM. Consumers can choose between the 32GB or the 64GB versions. Regardless of the final choice, the device is MicroSD support-capable that can expand the storage up to two terabytes.
Meanwhile, a review of HTC 10 by Gareth Beavis of Tech Radar revealed a mixed first impression.
He wrote that the Taiwanese brand has become a victim of its success following the release of the flagship HTC 8. However, just like the M9, there are some bugs in the new device, while the 12MP camera is "not impressive."
"The One M8 had the same impressive ability to be fondled, but it combined it with better sound output and innovative pictures - it was one of the best phones ever made," he added. "With the One M9, there was very little to talk about, and that's how I feel about the HTC 10."
